DentalAce Special Offers – How you can get the most out of this function as a dentist

As you know. DentalAce recently rolled out a new function for our dentist members that allows them to define and offer special offers for potential new patients. Find more information about how you as a dentist member can maximize the value from our new special offer function in the following video.

Fortunately, some of our dentist members have already tested this function with success with some of their patients. Since our special offer function has been garnering an increasing amount of interest, we thought that it would make sense to prepare a guide on how to optimally use it for our dentist members and patient visitors.

Let's start with the key idea behind the special offer function: in short, the function is not intended to reduce the price level of dental procedures but to connect each patient visitor with the best dentist match for them. To make this possible, our dentist members can take one of many approaches or combine them depending on their particular goals:

  1. Turn 1 +1 into 3: With some of the more complicated treatments, it makes sense to split them up among more than one dentist because every step of the procedure requires a very narrow specialization. In the case of a root canal procedure, for example, the initial exam and the placement of the crown can be done by a general dentist while the cleaning out and sealing of the root canals can be done by an endodontist. Thereby, a patient can reduce the risk of follow-up visits due to incomplete or incorrectly performed initial procedures. To save potential new patients the time they would need to set up appointments with 2 different dental care specialists, a dentist may offer a root canal treatment package that includes the referral to and appointment scheduling with an endodontist. An added benefit besides the scheduling assistance is the fact that the partner endodontist could be one of the leading experts in his field which in and of itself translates into significant extra value for a patient without even taking treatment pricing into account.
  2. Care Optimization: As we know, most dentists recommend planning for at least 2 dental checkup visits as well as for 2 professional dental cleanings and 1 set of x-rays per year. Ideally, a patient can get all of these basic dental care procedures done in 2 appointments, however, it can also take several appointment more if scheduling issues arise. To save the patient the time associated with multiple appointment bookings throughout the year, a dentist can offer a consolidated annual basic dental care package that covers the following 12 months. Thanks to the time savings and the higher degree of convenience, such a package would present a clear value add to patients again without needing to take the price variable into account.
  3. Cost Assistance: As we know, some dentist-seeking patients can not afford one or more necessary dental procedures and are therefore either constantly looking for deals on dental care procedures or foregoing dental care altogether. To prevent this from happening and to provide care for additional new patients, dentist members can use the treatment package option to offer specific treatments and treatment packages at better prices (e.g., checkup visit + professional dental cleaning or professional dental cleaning + bleaching). How exactly those improved financial conditions look depends entirely on the individual dentist who offers them. Some sample ideas are straight price reductions, coupons for future appointments, or price cuts tied to multiple appointment bookings in advance.
  4. Combination: Since the 3 above-mentioned options serve as examples and can also be offered in combination with each other, patients may find package deals that meet their annual basic dental care needs at better prices in the future. As already mentioned, our goal for offering this function is to support our dentist members with the patient acquisition process while providing them with maximum flexibility for defining how they want to use it

One more thing before we conclude this guide: while we are supportive of our member dentists offering improved pricing on packages to help out patients with smaller budgets, we do also caution against excessive use of the price variable to avoid so-called "price dumping". Therefore, we reserve the right to review and, if needed, pull pricing-related offers in an effort to safeguard the value of the services provided by our members.

Hopefully, this brief guide provided you with some more useful information about our package options and in case of any questions, we are always reachable at dentalace@acemydental.com and via phone at 01 925 38 19.

All the Best from DentalAce!
